Dedicated to the Growth and Promotion of Men's & Women's Collegiate Golf
This site is supplementary to, but independent of, the College Golf Foundation, a non-profit service organization founded in the spring of 1995 with the corporate support of Rolex Watch U.S.A., and sustained by an alliance with MasterCard International, is dedicated to the growth and promotion of men’s and women’s collegiate golf.
Serving as Honorary Chairs of the CGF and its Advisory Board are two of the game’s greatest players, Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer. The Advisory Board is comprised of current PGA and LPGA luminaries, such as Fred Couples and Nancy Lopez - as well as other important members of the golfing community including Sandy Tatum, former president of the USGA, and Charlie Mechem, former commissioner of the LPGA.
A 31-member coaches council, consisting of coaches from many of the top men’s and women’s collegiate programs from across the country, is the policy-making body of the CGF. With the support of the CGF Coaches Council and help from the blue-ribbon CGF Advisory Board, the College Golf Foundation has administered an extensive array of awards programs for collegiate golf, including:
Honor Award – presented by the CGF and selected by the GCAA to a men’s golf coach in recognition of their substantial contribution to the growth and development of men’s college golf
Gladys Palmer Meritorious Service Award – presented by the CGF and selected by the NGCA to a women’s golf coach honoring their substantial contribution to the growth and development of women’s college golf
